One Click Donations: Charity for Procrastinators
Everyone can relate to that moment. When you need to work, but somehow you end up logged on to Facebook, Tumblr, and other sites. The procrastination leads to a trickle of doubt, a sense of unease, and finally guilt; but what if you could surf the web, procrastinate a bit, and sidestep the guilt?
The answer is a one click donation.
One click donations are a growing way to give back to the community or a cause you particularly care about without spending any real time or money. There are several websites you can visit, with links to organizations that participate organized by cause. You can choose from environmental, animal, educational, and even hunger and poverty causes. All you have to do is a click a button. Bam! One click donation. For each click, a sponsor company donates one cup of dog food, a milliliter of a vaccine, a teaspoon of flour.
There are also websites with quick games you can play, like freerice.com and charitii.com. Both give you a definition and you choose the best choice answer. For each correct answer, points are accumulated and “prizes” won. Like in freerice, one right answer is equal to ten grains of rice donated. You can play for as little or as long as you like.
With computer procrastination at an all-time high, why not give back a little while you do it?
