Enjoy Life in the Moment with New Social App, Sobrr
Tired of dating apps where the crazy girls and creepy guys lurk in the shadows?
Take the scary out of social interactions this Halloween with Sobrr, the first app to introduce the concept of 24-hour friendship according to this press release.
Available for iOS and Android, Sobrr allows you to engage in spontaneous interactions that expire within 24 hours unless couples agree they’re a match.
The app aims to model real life, in which people socialize but only become friends with whom they like. Sobrr returns this control back to you, according to the press release, because everything on Sobrr, including photos, messages and even friends (unless you really, really like them) expires within 24 hours.
A team of Silicon Valley veterans and UC Berkeley students and alumni founded Sobrr in 2014. CEO Bruce Yang developed the app after a bachelor party weekend in Vegas. While the app attracted a predominately male following at first, an increasing number of women are embracing Sobrr for its fun, spontaneity and privacy.
“Our 24-hour friendship feature enables users to connect with people around them … and then to curate those relationships, distinguishing between fleeting acquaintances and those with true friend potential,” Yang said in the press release.
Attracting 30k new users in just two months, Sobrr is becoming increasingly popular across U.S. campuses and to reward this enthusiasm, Sobrr is throwing All Hallows parties at the following universities around the nation.
