4 Ways to Welcome Your Customers

By Sydney Marsman on March 31, 2016

When you are first starting up your business, there are a lot of things to consider in terms of customers and support. One very important thing to recognize is that the customer needs to feel valued. Therefore, you should catch them right from the beginning and let them know that their business is appreciated. Here are some ways that you can do just that.

1. Welcome your customers to “the family”

When growing your business, it’s important to consider the perspective of the customer. The modern consumer values close ties – they like to know that they are appreciated as a consumer. Therefore, when welcoming your customers, welcome them to your “family.” Make them feel as though they are part of the team so that they will be more inclined to be loyal to you. Tell them that you are in this together. This will let them know that they are valued.

2. Welcome your customers with a gift

You can never go wrong with a gift. When customers agree to do business with a company, giving a gift is always a good way to make them feel appreciated. Gift giving is a traditional way to show someone general feelings of happiness. When you give your customers a gift, it shows them that you are happy with their business! It is just an extra way for the customer to see that they made the right choice when choosing to do business with you.

3. Personal conversation

The customer always wants to know that they are being heard. When someone agrees to use your products or services, one thing to do to make them feel welcome is to have a personal conversation with them. This doesn’t mean that you have to reveal all of your secrets about yourself, but let them know that you are listening to their needs. One of the main things that you should emphasize is the idea of communication. People are often frustrated with companies like Comcast that tend to keep you on hold for hours at a time. This leads to nothing but frustration. The people that run the company need to know how to relate to the users of their products. A customer that is heard is a customer that is happy.

4.  Host a small event for new customers

Lastly, a convenient way to welcome your new customers is to host an event for all of them. You could put on a luncheon and invite all of your new guests. The is convenient for many reasons: your customers will learn more about the company, they can become more comfortable with your workers, and it is an opportunity for you to understand their wants and needs. Not to say that it will be a life changing experience, but it will at least make everyone a bit more comfortable with each other.
