Create a summer playlist

Music is the perfect way to put you in the summery mood, so you should definitely create a summer playlist! A fun summer starts with a fun soundtrack. A few months from now, you will enjoy looking back at the songs you enjoyed during the summer.

Go on a road trip

Summer is the best time to take a road trip! Even if it’s a short trip, it will be fun to drive around with friends and family to a new place.

Go to a concert

Summer brings many opportunities to see concerts and live music. Countless artists go on tour during the summer, and there are also multiple music festivals happening around this time. The weather is perfect for it, and you do not have school to stop you, so you should definitely attend a concert this summer! Whether it is an outdoor music festival or a long-anticipated arena tour, you’ll have a great time.

Go to the beach

Of course, the best way to celebrate summer is to go to the beach!

Go camping

Camping is another fun summer activity, especially if you do it with a group of friends. Be sure to stay safe out there!

Get into the habit of applying sunscreen

It’s a well-known fact that sunscreen is essential to protect you from the sun’s harmful rays, but not enough people apply it. This summer, try to make applying sunscreen every day a habit. Your skin will thank you!

Spend time with your friends and family

If you are home for the summer, you will likely be seeing more of your hometown friends and family. Take advantage of having them nearby, because you won’t have them close by during the rest of the year. You can do things like have coffee with your best friend, go out to eat with your parents, and visit your grandparents. They will greatly appreciate it, and it will be nice for you to see them again.

Spend more time outside

The weather is beautiful during the summer, so why not spend more time outside? The sunshine and fresh air will be refreshing and good for you. Take some time to enjoy the outdoors this summer!

Have a movie marathon

Movie marathons are a fun way to spend rainy summer days.

Have a picnic

Summer is the perfect time for picnics! You could even gather a few friends to have a “potluck style” picnic, where everyone brings a different snack to share.

Be a tourist in your city

You don’t need to travel far to have a fun summer! You might be surprised about what your own city has to offer in your own backyard. Do some research and find a couple fun spots you have never been to before. You just might find your new favorite place.

Go 24 hours without using the Internet

Nowadays, we college students are addicted to the Internet because it’s so useful. However, if you don’t absolutely need it for school, you can take a break from it. This is why you should take an Internet and social media break this summer. Disconnecting from the Internet will allow you to enjoy what is actually in front of you. Instead of surfing the Internet, take the time to enjoy the outdoors, eat good food, and talk with your family and friends.

Host a bonfire

Summer nights are perfect for bonfires! At some point this summer, you should get a group of friends together to make s’mores around a bonfire. It’s a fun way to bond with your friends, eat some delicious snacks, and to take advantage of the nice weather. (Of course, be safe around the fire!)

Volunteer at an organization you care about

You will likely have lots of free time over the summer. Why not contribute that time to an organization whose mission you care about? Do some research on a cause you care about and see if there are any organizations in your area who support that cause and are looking for volunteers over the summer. Not only will it help the organization, but you will also make friends with people who care about the same cause. Volunteering is the perfect time investment for summer!

Get a haircut

Because it is so hot out in the summer, it’s nice to have shorter hair. Plus, it’s easier to maintain. For those reasons, summer is the perfect time to get a haircut or to change up your hairstyle. A new hairstyle is the mark of a new season!

Spend a day cleaning out your closet

It’s way too easy to accumulate clothes in your closet that you no longer wear. Because of this, you should spend a day this summer cleaning out your closet. You can give away your clothes to someone who will enjoy them. Your closet will be cleaner and someone will be happy to have new clothes.
